1st Anniversary breakfast for West Midlands #ThisIsMe

A breakfast was held on Monday 20th January 2020 as a celebration of the 1st Anniversary for #ThisIsMe with @WestMids_CA

This is Me helps raise awareness through the Green Ribbon Campaign, #endthestigma, and open up the conversation.  This is Me provides employers with the tools to change cultures around mental health.

The event was attended by a member of our Health & Wellbeing Steering Group, Wendy Glear.  It was a great opportunity to meet with other employers and learn what initiatives they have undertaken, share ideas and feedback.

Citizens Advice Dudley Borough have already signed up to this campaign and we’ve had the opportunity to do some amazing work around mental health in the workplace.  Some colleagues have shared their own experiences of mental health with others in different formats, including by pod-cast, poem, feelings displayed in art form.  We are looking forward to going into the second year of the campaign, raising awareness, opening up conversations, reducing stigma and building the well being skills of all paid and volunteer staff.

The celebrations included talks by Deputy Mayor of the West Midlands Cllr Bob Sleigh OBE, an overview of #ThisIsMe West Midlands, DMBC’s This is Me journey, Samaritans Wellbeing in the workplace, questions & answers and an opportunity to network.

To date, 108 employers across the West Midlands have now joined #ThisIsMe –the aim is to drive forward with the campaign and to get employers to sign a pledge on behalf of their organisation to sign another organisation up to This is Me West Midlands.
