Citizens Advice is 80 years old!
Today we are celebrating 80 years of providing free, confidential advice to everyone, whoever they are, whatever their problem.
On the 4th September 1939, the day after World War Two started, Citizens Advice started giving advice in 200 locations, giving advice on issues such as evacuation, being made homeless and ration books. While we are not experiencing the same issues as a wartime Britain, we still reach those who are in need of help 80 years later. We continue to offer face to face advice for those who need it but also reaching people in new ways, such as website, webchat or phone. Nationally in 2018/2019 we helped over 2.7 million people in these various ways.
At Citizens Advice Dudley Borough, we will be celebrating the 80th birthday this week. We wish to take the opportunity to thank all our volunteers and employees without whom we could not deliver our service and who display such dedication, time and knowledge continuously.
For everyone, for 80 years
