Councillors Visit to Get Money Confident
On Friday 28th February we were joined at Dudley House by Councillors Nick Barlow, Cathryn Bayton and Jill Edwards, Public Health Manager (Children & Young People) from Dudley Council. The Councillors were visiting to discuss Money Confidence, our financial capability project funded by Dudley Innovation Fund and Nat West Skills and Opportunities Fund, which has been running since January 2019. The Councillors were given a tour of Dudley House by Steph Smart, Business Development Manager and Mark Bromley, Financial Capability Caseworker.
They were really interested and supportive of the project, which has been delivered to and continues to support over 500 young people and parents. The project can help to reduce inter-generational debt, building both understanding and resilience, and creating sustainability through teaching peers and professionals to pass these skills on. It was great to have Jill Edwards join us as she acts as our sponsor for the Dudley Innovation Fund and has offered invaluable advice on developing the project further.
The Councillors are in the process of visiting a number of projects funded by the Innovation Fund ahead of a celebration evening being held at Revival Fires on 10th March. The event will give us the opportunity to showcase this fantastic project to others across the borough and raise awareness on the benefits of preventative measures when thinking about money management, planning and budgeting. In turn we hope this will help us engage and support more people across the area.
