Tackling Gambling Related Harm Summit
Citizens Advice Dudley Borough attended the Tackling Gambling Related Harm Summit in Birmingham in February 2019, ahead of the launch of the Gambling Support Service 2-year Project. Citizens Advice Dudley Borough will be delivering in the West Midlands from 1st April 2019.
Pictured on the left is Steph Smart, Business Development Manager and on the right Kam Bahra, Project Worker for the service. They had an information stall at the event and networked with several attending organisations.
Our employees met Katie Fry (National Citizens Advice and who led the Newport Pilot project that is now being rolled out from across the country), lead representatives from Gamble Aware (our Funders), West Midlands Police and the Gambling Commission Licensing Team. There were also presentations about why gambling (and gaming) is a ‘hidden epidemic’ in society currently.
As an organisation we are really looking forward to this new project starting and in supporting vulnerable people and their families from gambling related harm.
