Help to Claim Universal Credit Service

What is the service and who can access it?

Support for Dudley borough and Wolverhampton residents to make a new claim for Universal Credit. From opening your account to receiving your first full payment. You can be referred to us for support by the Job Centre, Local Authority, other agencies who identify a need for help or refer yourself.

  • Make sure you’re providing the right evidence to the Job Centre
  • Understand what Universal Credit will mean for you

How can this service be accessed?

 You can contact an adviser through our free Help to Claim phone service on 0800 144 8444  between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday 

Ask for a translator if you need to get advice in a different language.

Relay UK – if you can’t hear or speak on the phone, you can type what you want to say:

Alternatively you can also chat with an adviser online about your Universal Credit application. Chat is usually available 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday . The service is not available on public holidays. To use webchat, please go to Help to Claim Webchat
