National Citizens Advice Annual Conference 2025: A Day to Connect, Learn and Celebrate

The National Conference that took place in November was a fantastic opportunity for colleagues across the Citizens Advice Network and National to come together, share ideas, learn and celebrate the amazing work occurring. We were represented at the conference by nine members of CADW, all of whom really enjoyed the day. Here are some of their key takeaways:

The conference emphasised the importance of building common ground by listening to communities and shaping services around their real needs and experiences. It reaffirmed that we are working toward a shared purpose.

It also highlighted the growing pressures facing communities and staff such as economic strain, misinformation, and political tensions. Discussions focused on how local offices can respond.

Innovation and digital transformation were key themes, with encouragement for local offices to engage more in technology developments and upcoming digital projects to build a more connected service.

Finally, the conference reinforced the vital role of volunteering and the need to make it more flexible and accessible through taster sessions, tailored training, and flexible hours.

Here are some direct quotes from the day:
It was really nice to speak with other offices about what they’re doing locally and share a bit more about what we’re doing. For example, there were a few offices that were really impressed by our Info Hub and wanted to know more about how this was working.”
“It was a brilliant opportunity to spend the day networking and find out more about the National organisation.”
“I found it so valuable. Having the opportunity to network with other LCA’s and share knowledge was really interesting and gave me a lot of ideas. Also hearing the ‘staff voices’ stories was inspirational.”
“One key thing I took away from the session ‘Advancing Race Equity for Clients Through Participation’ was the importance of creating spaces where clients feel empowered to share their voices and shape the services they receive.”
The National Conference was an inspiring day full of connection, and reflection. Our team left energised and proud of the work we do and the difference we make in our communities.
