Celebrating 1 Year Anniversary of the Information Hub in Wolverhampton

On the 11th February 2025, Citizens Advice Dudley and Wolverhampton launched our walk in Information Hub at our Victoria Street office in Wolverhampton. The hub was created as a dedicated, welcoming space where clients can receive information, signposting and guidance on clear next steps without an appointment. At a time when the complexity of client problems is increasing and many people are facing multiple, interconnected challenges, the Hub was designed to make support more accessible, immediate, and easier to navigate.

Recognising that not everyone needs full advice, we introduced our Information Hub, which has quickly become a crucial access point. Open 3 days a week (Tues, Wed, Thurs) as a drop in service from 9am to 3pm (with last client entry at 2:30pm) it supports clients who may lack digital access, are unsure of where to start, or need clear information and signposting. We offer a free IT suite,  clients without computer access can receive one-to-one assistance in navigating websites and accessing online resources. For many, this is enough to resolve their issue, for others, it provides a calm, supported route into our bookable advice services or to other appropriate organisations.

The numbers from the past year tell a powerful story of impact and growing demand. Over the past 12 months, the Information Hub has supported 2,703 clients, and made 3,611 signposts to services both within and outside of Citizens Advice Dudley and Wolverhampton. In our first month, February 2025, we welcomed 144 clients. By our last full month, January 2026, that number had nearly doubled to 266 clients, with a peak of 287 clients in September. With consistently high demand and 69% of clients saying they wouldn’t have known where to turn without our service, the Hub’s vital role as a first point of contact is clear. These numbers are more than statistics; they represent real conversations, concerns, and moments where timely information made a difference.

On this first anniversary, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible team behind our Information Hub. Our Information Hub Facilitators do an outstanding job of listening to clients with care and compassion whilst providing the information they need or signposting to next steps.. Behind the scenes, our Technical & Quality Supervisors have been instrumental in guiding and mentoring both staff and volunteers, ensuring a consistent high quality service. With strong leadership oversight, our team works confidently and independently.

We look ahead to welcoming even more clients, helping each one navigate their challenges with confidence and clarity.

Although our Hub does not provide tailored advice, more details about our services and how to be assessed for an appointment can be found here: Accessing Our Services
