Coming together to support local foodbanks this winter
As winter approached and the cost of living continued to put pressure on many households, colleagues across Citizens Advice Dudley & Wolverhampton came together to support a Christmas foodbank collection for two local organisations doing vital work in our communities: Black Country Foodbank and The Well Wolverhampton.
The collection was organised by members of our Service Delivery Management team, working together to create a simple, voluntary way for our staff and volunteers to support people who may be struggling at what can be a particularly difficult time of year. Both foodbanks support many of the same people who come to us for advice, so it felt important to offer practical help alongside the support we provide every day.
Over the collection period, colleagues donated a wide range of long-life food items and everyday essentials. The response across both offices was generous and thoughtful, with donations guided by the posters and leaflets created for the campaign and placed at collection points in Dudley and Wolverhampton.
We’d also like to say thank you to Lisa from our Business Support Team, who helped coordinate with the foodbanks and supported the collection and delivery of donations. That behind the scenes support helped ensure everything reached the right place smoothly.
We are grateful to Black Country Foodbank and The Well Wolverhampton for the compassionate work they do, providing not just food but dignity, warmth and reassurance to people when they need it most. As demand for food support continues to rise, local organisations like these remain a lifeline for many in our community.
Thank you to everyone who chose to take part. Every donation, big or small, was a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to support our community.
