Celebrating Success at DCVS AGM and Volunteer Awards

In October, three of our dedicated hub volunteers proudly represented five individuals (Lauraleigh, Simone, Kenny, Ola and Riyaz) at the Dudley Council for Voluntary Service (DCVS) AGM and Volunteer Awards. Nominated by Liz Jones for the new category, ‘Cost of Living Crisis,’ our team emerged as the deserving winners of this award.

The Mayoress of Dudley presented the award, propelling the team into a whirlwind of activities. From an impromptu and nerve-wracking interview with Black Country Radio to capturing moments on DCVS’s social media and engaging in a brief interview with media students from Dudley College—the night was a mix of achievement and adrenaline.

The experience was not only great but also humbling, surrounded by fellow volunteers dedicated to making a difference in our local community. This win serves as motivation to persist in our efforts to alleviate financial hardships for members in our local community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this achievement possible for our hub volunteers… our hub team, coordinators, business support, and management for their unwavering support. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without their dedication. Also, a special thanks also to past volunteers who contributed to this recognised project.

Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing ‘Cost of Living Crisis’ hubs journey!
