Do you need help with your energy costs?

As the summer nights begin to draw in, we want to make sure that you are prepared for winter and the higher energy costs it usually brings with it. We can support you in getting help towards your energy bills this winter.

We currently have an Energy Advice Project, where our experienced and knowledgeable Energy Advisor can provide advice on:

Reducing your energy bills
• Energy Efficiency measures for your household
• Switching Supplies and or Tariffs
• Smart Meters
• Priority Services Registers and other discounts
• Energy grants and local welfare assistance
• The Winter Fuel Payments Scheme

If you are interested and would like an appointment with our Energy Advisor, please contact us on 0808 278 7919. Our Contact Centre is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30am to 3:30pm.

We also want to highlight some planned changes to the Winter Fuel Payments (WFP) scheme, which will come into effect this winter. You may already be aware but the Winter Fuel Payment is an annual, one-off payment that helps pensioners pay for heating during the winter. Depending on your age and if you live with somebody else who’s eligible, it could provide you with up to £300 towards your bills.

The new planned changes will mean that only those receiving Pension Credit or other means tested benefits will now be eligible. We know that currently, a third of all people entitled to Pension Credit aren’t claiming it, and it’s more important than ever, that if you are eligible, to apply for this benefit to ensure you don’t lose the Winter Fuel Payment and access to any other support available.

The changes might be confusing and worrying, so book in for an energy appointment today for more information on applying for pension credit, in addition to saving money on your energy bills
