Energy Advice Service
An energy advice service for Dudley and Wolverhampton residents who are in or at risk of being in fuel poverty and are struggling to pay their bills. The service can help with a whole range of energy matters including:
• Finding the cheapest energy supplier and tariff
• Budgeting for future energy usage
• Understanding your energy bill and setting heating controls
• Information on grants for insulation and other energy efficiency measures
• Dealing with fuel debt, including help to negotiate affordable payment arrangements and grant applications
• Smart meters
• Income maximisation
• Grants and fuel voucher support
A holistic approach to advice means our team can signpost or refer individuals to other services that can provide further support.
It is intended that the advice provided during an appointment will result in:
● An increase in income if new benefits are identified
● A reduction in energy expenditure as a result of using energy saving measures (we refer to this as energy efficiency “behaviour change”)
● Increasing awareness of sources of support to help such as Warm Home Discount and the Priority Services Register
● Increasing confidence to deal with energy issues in the future.
