Trauma Advice Service

What is this service and who can access it?

Our Trauma advice service is an in-patient service currently operating from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham dedicated to people who have experienced significant trauma as a consequence of accident and injury. It is primarily a welfare benefits advice casework service dedicated to responding to the life changing injuries patients have sustained and therefore significant changes in their circumstances. The dedicated caseworker team support patients pre and post discharge and will make referrals into our other services (such as our Debt caseworker service) and external services as appropriate.

How can this service be accessed?

All patients are referred by the 4Trauma4Patient social prescribing team within the hospitals. This is only open to in-patients eligible via the in-hospital Trauma Team
