Child Palliative Care Service

What is the service and who can access it?

This service works with the children’s palliative nurses (known as community seesaw nurses) at the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We provide generalist advice and casework on all 9 advice areas to families with children with life limiting medical conditions and disabilities in the Dudley Borough so that they can choose the best options to meet their personal needs and situations.

How can this service be accessed?
This service can only be accessed through referrals made to us by the ‘See Saw’ community nurse team at the Black Country NHS Foundation Trust.  Most of the assessments are done in the privacy of the parent’s home, enabling the parents to feel comfortable within their own environment and wherever possible to meet the needs of the carers and children involved.

Please contact your paediatric See-Saw nurse to be referred to our service for an appointment.
